Early life
About me: Originally from a small town in Arkansas. I left home just after my 18th birthday and joined the USAirForce. They thought I was mechanically inclined, so I spent over 4 years as a Flight Mechanic. After my stint in the military, I went to a trade school just outside Washington DC to learn Computer Programming. I completed my Undergraduate work at Ashford University in Iowa with a major in Organizational Management and went on to attain a Master's Degree in Cyber-Security and Computer Forensics at Bellevue University in Nebraska.
Professionally I worked in Programming, Systems and Network Administration, Oracle, Sybase, Postgres, Informix and SQL Database Administration, Security, and E-Discovery Expert.
For many years I worked as a consultant both as an Independent and for different companies. I have worked both for San Jacinto College, as well as more than 25 years at Houston Community College. I enjoyed teaching so much over the years and decided again to share my experiences and education.
I believe that bringing real-world experiences in conjunction with an education into the classroom is a good mix. I'm the father of 3 sons, all of whom are all over 30, and a wonderful 15-year-old grandson to keep my life very busy.
My hobbies are Alpine Sking, Sailboat Racing, Robotics, and Traveling,
